Logging an inspection or test

Video walkthrough for this article has not been recorded yet — the written steps above are the full guide in the meantime.

The Inspections & tests tab runs on whichever inspection framework your project is set up for — commercial ITP, industrial ITP, or a USACE-style three-phase (preparatory, initial, follow-up) — chosen per definable feature of work, not picked fresh every time.

Steps

  1. Open Inspections & tests and find the inspection point for the work you're checking.
  2. Record the result. For a recurring follow-up-phase point, each check adds to a running log rather than overwriting the last one — useful for something inspected repeatedly over time.
  3. If something doesn't conform, log a nonconformance — what the disposition is (use-as-is, repair, rework, reject, or return to vendor) and who authorized it.
  4. Attach photos the same way you would anywhere else in Jig.
