Your first day in Jig: signing up and your first project

Video walkthrough for this article has not been recorded yet — the written steps above are the full guide in the meantime.

When you sign up, Jig creates a brand-new organization for you — it's the boundary everything else lives inside, and it never merges with anyone else's. Your organization comes seeded with one sample project already in it (you'll see it named something like "Lakeside Residence (sample)") so you have something real to click around in before you build your first actual project.

Steps

  1. Sign up and confirm your email.
  2. Look at the sample project first — it's a fully built-out example, not an empty shell, so it's the fastest way to see what a finished Jig project looks like.
  3. Create your own first project from the Projects screen.
  4. Invite your team from Settings → Access — pick each person's seat type as you go (see Understanding seats for what each seat type can see).
  5. If George gave you a license/comp code, redeem it at Settings → Plan → Redeem a code — it only changes your own organization's plan, never anyone else's.
