Short answers for quick questions. For the full walkthrough on any of these, follow the link in the answer.

What comes in my organization when I first sign up?

A sample project ("Lakeside Residence (sample)") that's fully built out, so you have something real to look at before you build your first actual project. See Your first day in Jig.

What can a Field seat see that a Full seat can't, and vice versa?

A Field seat sees the day-to-day tabs — Schedule, Drawings, Daily logs, Punch list, RFIs, Equipment, Files, Reports — but never Budget, Billing, Handover, or any money column. A Full (office/PM) seat sees everything. See Understanding seats.

Can a Viewer edit anything?

No. Viewer access is free, unlimited, and read-only, scoped to one project at a time. If you're removed from a project, it disappears from your navigation immediately. See Understanding seats and Inviting a client or owner as a viewer.

What does a subcontractor or trade partner see on a shared project?

Only their own company's rows — Schedule, RFIs, Submittals, Daily logs, Punch list, Drawings, and Files — plus their own pay applications, waivers, and payroll. Never Budget, Reports, or Equipment, and never another company's rows. See What your subcontractors can see and do.

Why does a pay application sometimes show a negative amount due?

It usually means a credit is owed back to the owner, most often because a retainage rate changed after an earlier application was already certified. Jig never hides this by clamping the number to zero. See Understanding a negative amount due.

Can I switch a schedule out of takt mode once I've switched it in?

No — switching to takt mode is one-way on a given project. Critical-path math keeps running underneath either way, so you don't lose float or critical-path tracking. See Switching your schedule to takt mode.

Does Jig open DWG files in the browser?

Not yet — DWG files are download-only for now. DXF and IFC (2D and 3D) both open directly in the browser. See Opening drawings in Jig.

If I work offline in the field, will my daily log get lost or duplicated?

No. Entries queue up while you're offline and sync once you're back online; Jig checks against what's already on the server first, so nothing gets overwritten or duplicated. See Filing your daily log.

Who can mark an HSSE record as reportable?

A field seat can close out a corrective action assigned to them, but marking a record reportable or verifying a close-out is an office task. See Recording a safety incident or near miss.

Can I reuse a report I built once without rebuilding it?

Yes — save it by name. Saved reports belong to your organization, not just you, so a teammate can reopen one you built. See Building a custom report.

If I need to walk back EOT days already granted on a delay event, can I just edit the number?

Not directly — days granted only go up on their own. There's a separate, clearly labeled override action that requires an explanation. See Filing a delay event and requesting an extension of time.

What does Controls cost, and what's included without it?

Scheduling and base budgeting are included on every seat. Controls — earned-value forecasting, portfolio roll-up, SSO, and audit export — is a $299/month flat add-on per account, at every account size. See Managing seats and your plan.
