Understanding seats: Full, Field, Viewer, and trade partner access
Video walkthrough for this article has not been recorded yet — the written steps above are the full guide in the meantime.
Jig doesn't give everyone the same view. What you see is tied to your seat type, and it's worth understanding up front so you're not hunting for a tab that was never going to show up for your role.
- Full seat (office/PM): sees everything — every tab, every dollar figure, budgets, billing, handover.
- Field seat: built for people running the job day to day. Sees Overview, Schedule, Drawings, RFIs, Submittals & specs, Daily logs, Punch list, Equipment, Files, Reports, and clients under CRM — but never Budget, Billing, Handover, or any money column anywhere. A field seat can file daily logs, create and close punch items, update schedule progress, raise RFIs, log change-order scope (not dollar amounts), log certified-payroll hours (not rates), and record HSSE incidents. An office admin can grant two extra permissions per project if needed: acting on submittals, or uploading drawings.
- Viewer: free, unlimited, scoped to one project at a time, read-only across everything in that project. Managed from Settings → Access. If you're removed, the project disappears from your navigation immediately.
- Trade partner / subcontractor collaborator: also free and unlimited, but scoped differently — by company, not just by project. A subcontractor, testing lab, commissioning agent, or consultant sees only their own company's rows across Schedule, RFIs, Submittals, Daily logs, Punch, Drawings, and Files — including their own pay applications, waivers, and payroll, just not anyone else's. They never see Budget, Reports, or Equipment. (A client/owner, owner's rep, architect, engineer, inspector, or lender is set up differently — they see the whole job, not just one company's slice.)
